Our shop offers a wide variety of mineral specimens, gemstones, crystals, and other related goods. We also have an exciting gem-mining experience and geode cracking. We love sharing interesting and educational facts about geology with anyone willing to learn.

Located in the heart of the Illinois Valley in the beautiful village of Utica, our shop is near three incredible Illinois State Parks: Starved Rock, Matthiessen, and Buffalo Rock. our Story
After over 30 years of collecting unique gemstones, rocks, and minerals, we realized that we wanted to share our interest with the community. Thus, we started our business under the name Illinois Valley Gems and Minerals in 2018, and changed our name to The Rock and Soul later that year. Over time, we have expanded the shop and added an interactive element through the sluicing area, made for both kids and adults. Our catalogue of precious gems and minerals has grown throughout the years, and we hope that we have whatever you may be looking for.
